FYK inviterer til foredrag med professor i kriminologi Dr. Keith J. Hayward:

The countercultural appeal of ‘Jihadi cool’: some criminological notes on the ‘seductions of terrorism.
Dr. Keith J. Hayward is Professor of Criminology at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen. For over two decades his work has focused on the various ways in which cultural dynamics intertwine with the practices of crime and crime control within contemporary society.
In this presentation his attention turns to terrorist motivation. More specifically he will suggest that the physical act of terrorism is as much a site of individual self-drama and existential self-realization as a tactical instrument for pursuing the ideological goals of political groups. Introducing Mark Hamm’s concept of ‘the searcher’, his own work on ‘terrorist (e)motives’, and other recent criminological research on terrorist violence, Dr Hayward’s talk will train attention on important yet often overlooked aspects of terrorism, including everything from the sensual excitement that is a central element of terrorist activity, to the subcultural allure of certain forms of extremist behaviour.

Der vil efter foredraget være tid til spørgsmål og debat.
Arrangementet foregår torsdag d. 27. april kl. 17.00 – 19.00.
